About the speaker – Iain Bushell:
Iain Bushell has a diverse background in military, fire service, emergency management, and municipal government. He started as a Navigator and Tactical Coordinator in the Royal Canadian Air Force, then worked as a firefighter, emergency medical technician, and paramedic before becoming the Fire Chief and Director of Emergency Management in Strathcona County. He also served as the Deputy Fire Chief for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service before returning to Alberta to work as the General Manager of Community and Infrastructure Services for the Town of Morinville. Currently, he is the Director of Emergency Management and Community Safety for the City of Calgary, overseeing several business lines such as Community Standards, Animal Control, and 9-1-1/Communications.
