Overcoming Fear to Embrace Inclusion in the Workplace

February 27 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Virtual event using Zoom

Building a diverse workforce, comprised of individuals from various backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities, brings to the workplace a unique depth of knowledge and perspective. When workers are encouraged to discover and cultivate their individual strengths and contributions, both the workforce and the business thrive. However, despite the obvious benefits of diversity, misconceptions, fear, and bias can often make it difficult to embrace inclusion.

In this forum, Kuen Tang, a self-advocate for persons with disabilities, will provide strategies on how to overcome fear to embrace inclusion, cultivate understanding and fully unleash your team’s talent and passion.

This session is for HR or business leaders hoping to make a positive change in their organizations’ culture, DE&I initiatives and ultimately, productivity while tackling the bias and fears that often affect growth.

About the speaker:

Tang, also known as The Mighty Kuen, started her journey in life after she sustained a spinal cord injury at the age of 22. She went on to become a motivational speaker, advocate for people with disabilities, teacher, mother, and avid adventurer. Tang is the world’s first quadriplegic comic book letterer to work for DC Comics and the first to wheel the Great Wall of China. By day, she works full time as a Community Relations and Employment Coordinator guiding people with various abilities looking for employment.
