Studio C

Studio C is a unique integrated Community Art and Resource Centre – a venue where artists with and without disabilities achieve collaboration, inspiration and immersion within Calgary’s art community.

Visual art is a universal language. Participation in the visual arts creates opportunities for uninhibited self expression, self development, community growth and transformation.

Studio C Art and Resource Centre is a community arts initiative. The studio is open to individuals wishing to express their artistic potential and their creativity. The centre has the capability to adapt programs for all members of the community.

Studio C receives funding through grants and the generous contributions of private and corporate sponsors.

What We Do

Studio C offers workshops to everyone who has an interest in participating and a desire to awaken their creativity through exposure to a variety of artistic mediums. Our Studio Artists, Guest Artists and Member Artists all bring unique perspectives to their craft and share their knowledge and enthusiasm with our workshop participants.

To share the artistic successes of our participants with the community, we host 12 in-house exhibitions a year featuring our Studio and community artists.

Classes

  • Classes are offered in 12-week sessions.
  • Sessions are lead by practicing and recognized community artists.
  • Drop-in Saturday workshops (Art Central Interactive).
  • Evening and weekend classes will be available in the near future.
  • Classes are available to all members of the community, at a nominal fee.
  • Individuals requiring additional assistance to participate in Studio activities will be required to provide additional support as a condition of Studio access.
  • Space is limited, pre-registration is required.

Collaborations

Studio C collaborations are borne out of community connections and the Art Community’s commitment to embrace cultural diversity. Our collaborations are driven by the desire of artists to shape and change perspective through the medium of art.

Our most celebrated and recognized collaborations have resulted from the collaboration between disabled and non-disabled artists.
Studio C adapts programs for all members of the community.
