Valerie Scott's abstracts radiate and pulse with a finite visual energy. Utilizing intuitive coloration, dictated by a systematic act of application establishes definitive particulate forms - wavelengths shimmering in concentric rings. Valerie's work creates a visual tension - an almost tactile skin, alive with spectral interaction and motion.

Contrasting Valerie Scott's agitated surfaces are the transparent sheets of colour presented by Ricky Au. Aptly described as "Veils", Ricky's watercolours record a process which takes form first with the liberal application of water. Color is then flooded into the moistened areas with controlled abandon, depositing multi-layered sheets of paled chroma. These fields are built up with successive pours, affording a lyrical document of physical painterly engagement.
