Prospect Hosts Delegates from Japan

7/23/2010

Prospect Human Services, in collaboration with Alberta Employment and Immigration, had the honour of hosting a group of delegates from Japan on July 12, 2010. The 17 delegates were all representatives of SELP, a non-profit organization in Japan which helps persons with disabilities gain social and financial independence through participation in work opportunities.

During their visit to Canada, the delegates were interested in obtaining information on current Canadian practices for the successful workforce and social inclusion of persons with disabilities. Prospect arranged for a presentation to the delegation which contained an overview of Prospect’s clients, programs and impact within the community. The presentation also included information on the Disability Related Employment Supports (DRES) program, which was provided by a representative from AEI Calgary Regional Supports Services. Prospect wishes to thank Alberta Employment and Immigration for their support in hosting the delegation.
