PDD Outdoor Pursuits

On September 2nd and 3rd, clients from Prospect’s PDD Community Access Program participated in memorable overnight experience at YMCA Camp Chief Hector.

Throughout the summer, two groups of PDD Community Access clients have been honing in their employability skills and increasing their independence by volunteering with YMCA Camp Chief Hector. Volunteer duties have included gathering and splitting wood used as fuel for the fires of the hundreds of kids that take part in summer camps every year.

Over the September long weekend, this amazing group of volunteers was acknowledged for their hard work by YMCA Camp Chief Hector, in an overnight camp experience. Clients and staff were treated to a full camp experience, including sleeping in tee-pees, a campfire, a high-ropes course, canoeing and horse back riding. Incredibly skilled and hardworking YMCA staff brought the experience to life through their amazing leadership and coordination of the day’s activity
